Pulkovo Airport ready to receive SPIEF 2016 guests

Pulkovo Airport is ready to receive guests of the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which will be held at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 16–18, 2016.

In preparation for the Forum, all of Pulkovo Airport’s services have been switched to enhanced security mode, and an extra shift of personnel has been assigned. Passenger services will be provided in regular operations mode.

With two days until SPIEF begins, requests for Pulkovo landing services have already been received for more than 400 business aviation flights with business leaders and state officials on board, and further requests are still being submitted. Most SPIEF guests are expected to arrive at the St. Petersburg airport on June 15, on the eve of the Forum opening.

From June 13 to 18, an accreditation point is open at the airport for SPIEF participants. From June 15 to 18, shuttle buses will connect Pulkovo with the SPIEF Central Venue, running at 30 minute intervals.

In 2015, Pulkovo Airport provided services to 13.5 million passengers. In 2010–2015, the airport’s main operator, the international consortium Northern Capital Gateway, completed the first stage of the Pulkovo reconstruction and development project, with investment totalling EUR 1.2 billion. As a result, the capacity of the passenger terminal complex has risen to 18 million people a year. At the end of 2015, Airports Council International (ACI) ranked Pulkovo the best airport in Europe in its Airport Service Quality ranking for quality of passenger service.
