Roscongress Foundation and World Economic Forum sign memorandum on cooperation

As part of an initiative by the Roscongress Foundation and the World Economic Forum (WEF) International Organization for Public and Private Partnership, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the WEF as well as the Roscongress Foundation and the WEF signed documents on cooperation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and the Founder and President of the WEF in Davos Klaus Martin Schwab.

In particular, the Roscongress Foundation and the WEF signed a memorandum on cooperation. The document was signed by Roscongress Foundation Director Alexander Stuglev and Member of the WEF Managing Board and Head of Regional and Government Engagement Philipp Rösler.

The signing was followed by a press conference devoted to the work of the Russian House in Davos in 2018.

“We are pleased to welcome you to the northern capital of our country on the sidelines of Russia’s top economic event. With each passing year, the geography of our events has expanded and taken on an increasing global reach. We are committed to demonstrating that Russia is open to dialogue. This is why we carried out such a unique project as the Russian House in January 2017 in Davos at the World Economic Forum jointly with our partner Ulmart Group of Companies”, Roscongress Foundation Director Alexander Stuglev said.

The officials noted that the Russian House has become the official Russian residence in Davos. Since it was opened, the Russian House has been visited by more than 3,000 people, including government officials, heads of international business, and representatives of the investment community.

“Our objective is to attract attention to Russia as a place for investment. Thanks to the business sessions and personal meetings at the Russian House, foreign guests have received information about the opportunities for doing business in our country and learned firsthand about the success stories of Russian companies in the digital sector of the economy. The Russian House project was conceived as a platform for stimulating dialogue among business circles and also for promoting Russian culture and traditions on the international arena”, Stuglev added.

In 2018, the Russian House will once again become the official residence, discussion platform, and Russian culture centre during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The organizers of the Russian House are the Roscongress Foundation and Ulmart Group of Companies.
