Greek delegation to attend SPIEF 2018

A meeting has taken place in Moscow between Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, and Dimitrios Velanis, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Greece.

They discussed the interaction of the countries’ business communities and support of the Greek business sector amid the financial crisis. The Greek party noted that entrepreneurs from Greece are interested in participation in business events of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that will take place on 24–26 May 2018. Dimitrios Velanis said that the delegation is going to include government officials of ministerial and regional levels. 

They also discussed the organization of two round tables: Russia-Greece: New Era Of Trust-Based Cooperation with the participation of large business leaders and Promoting Cooperation Between Russian And Greek Companies for  small and medium businesses as part of cooperation between the Roscongress Foundation and TIF HELEXPO, the Greek national exhibition agency. The two companies signed a partnership agreement at SPIEF 2017. As a result, in September 2017 they organized the first business forum Eurasian Economic Union – Greece: A New Bridge for Cooperation and Development in Thessaloniki.

Anton Kobyakov assured that the two parties are going to continue their dialogue on long-term cooperation between Greek and Russian business communities at SPIEF 2018: “Interaction between the organizers of major business forums, such as SPIEF and TIF, is a foundation for close economic relations between our business communities. Our countries are working together on development of a number of economic sectors. We can see that Greek businessmen are interested in regional cooperation and organization of joint ventures with Russian entrepreneurs.”
