On March 16, 2016, Krasnodar will host the third St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) session in the series “Russia’s regions: new areas of growth”. The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation jointly with the Russian Export Center and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and will be held in association with the Russian Foreign Investment Advisory Council and EY.

The discussion will focus on identifying and developing new investment and export projects in Russia. Among the invitees is Vladimir Gurba, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Southern Federal District; Lev Kuznetsov, Minister of North Caucasus Affairs; Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of Krasnodar Territory; business leaders; leading Russian experts on investment; civic representatives; and the media.

Participants will also be able to learn about the options available for taking part in the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
(June 16–18, 2016), and discuss how to improve the investment climate in the region, find potential investors, and enter new markets.
“Major international business events like the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum present unique opportunities to promote the economic and investment potential of Russia’s regions, and also to establish a broad range of contacts with investors and consumers of Russian products on the global market,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee.

The event is also set to include a briefing session from the Russian Export Center on the financial and non-financial support it offers to exporters through a one-stop shop approach, a briefing session entitled “Marketing regions”, and a roundtable organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
Similar SPIEF regional sessions have previously been held in the Volga Federal District (in Nizhny Novgorod) and the Ural Federal District (in Yekaterinburg).
