Russia stands ready to lend to international customers of the Tver Carriage Works, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

The plant specializes in manufacturing single- and double-decker passenger railway carriages, including those used on international routes, various types of freight and special-purpose railway wagons, bogies for trunk railway rolling-stock, and new-generation electric-powered trains; it is also involved in production of Metro carriages and low-floor trams. With a capacity of more than 1,000 wagons a year, the company employs more than 6,100.

The plant’s customers include railways in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, and Mongolia. Trains consisting of Tver Carriage Works wagons serve international routes linking Russia to Helsinki, Nice, Sofia, Belgrade, Warsaw and other European cities, while its trams operate in Moscow, St Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Tver.
