SME Forum business programme published

The programme of the 4th Russian Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum (SME Forum) has been published. The SME Forum is scheduled for 23 May 2018 on the zero day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Its organizers are the Roscongress Foundation and the All-Russia Non-Governmental Organization of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses ‘Opora Russia’. 

The SME Forum’s business programme will open with a plenary session called ‘Entrepreneurship in Russia: anthology of success or academy of failure?’ to be held with the support of АО Delovaya Sreda (Business Environment). In the format of hard talk, successful young entrepreneurs will consider cases of successes and failures most typical of Russian business, while also discussing the efficacy of the existing measures to support small and medium-sized businesses and new initiatives of the Russian Government.  

Another significant event will be the strategic session ‘Business Banya: key mistakes made by businessmen in small and medium companies in expanding their businesses’. Its participants will be divided into small groups, each including an expert – a successful entrepreneur who will share their experience in a particular area. For instance, Business Banya will be a high quality networking and valuable applied business tool. The session will be held with the support of the Atlases Russian Business Forum. 

The Forum’s key speakers include Mikhail Dashkiev, Co-Founder of the Business Youth (Biznes Molodost) Guild; Yevgeny Demin, General Director and Co-Owner of Splat Cosmetics; Georgy Solovyev, General Director and Co-Founder of Skyeng; Alexander Kalinin, President of the All-Russia Non-Governmental Organisation of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses OPORA RUSSIA; Pavel Kuryanov, General Director of Black Star Inc.; Mikhail Mamuta, Head of the Service for Consumer Protection and Financial Inclusion; Alexander Braverman, General Director and Chairman of the Board at JSC RSMB Corporation; Dmitry Golovanov, Chairman of the Board of SME Bank; Sergey Morozov, Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region; Erik Brovko, Founder and Shareholder of Synthesis Group; Markus Jerger, Director General of the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW); Andrey Slepnev, General Director of the Russian Export Centre; and Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. 

In total, the SME Forum will feature some 15 events covering all aspects of development of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia, such as availability of financial resources, production efficiency, international experience and tools for boosting entrepreneurial activity, the future of SME in the digital economy and its export potential. A separate panel session will focus on the cooperation between Russia and Japan (a guest country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum) in the sphere of SME. The SME Forum will also look at the results of the ‘OPORA for IT’ business accelerator. 

The SME Forum is aimed at boosting the potential of the small and medium-sized businesses in Russia, while also expanding a dialogue with government agencies in order to lower administrative barriers and enhance the efficacy of the infrastructure, financial and institutional support for SME.
