The creative sector is establishing new niches in areas where various technologies intersect, expanding the export potential for the economy. Creative industries represent a source of growth for exports beyond raw materials, and can help Russia establish its cultural output abroad, while putting forward a positive image for the wider world. The sector also makes a substantial contribution to the country’s investment attractiveness, and provides an opportunity to change the structure of exports in favour of high-tech products as well as creative and digital services. At the same time, it offers great potential for the application of Russian human capital in the global context, while acting as a driver of Russian soft power. What strategies can be undertaken to expand Russia’s role in the global business community by increasing market share in the creative economy? Which creative industries have the greatest potential for export today, and which have the potential in the future?

Ekaterina Cherkes-zade is a head of Universal University, which joint leading educational institutions representing first-class education in the creative industries sphere: British Higher School of Art and Design, Moscow Film School, Scream School, MARCH Architectural School, Moscow Advanced Communications School, Moscow Music School and other projects.Graduated from Moscow State University of Printing Arts (the faculty for publishing and journalism), and International Visitor Leadership Program from Graduate School USA. Worked on various projects in the media and publishing industries. Since 2009 Ekaterina Cherkes-zade has engaged in the education in the field of creative industries.

Stephen Brobst

Stephen Brobst is the Chief Technology Officer for Teradata Corporation. His expertise is in the identification and development of opportunities for the strategic use of technology in competitive business environments. Over the past thirty years Stephen has been involved in numerous engagements and has worked with such leaders as eBay, Staples, General Motors, Wells Fargo Bank, Wal-Mart, AT&T Communications, VISA, Vodafone, Nationwide Insurance, American Airlines, and many more.
In 2009 he was also appointed to the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) of USA in the working group on Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD).
In the last ExecRank ranking he was named the #4 CTO in the United States (behind the CTOs from Amazon.com, Tesla Motors, and Intel) out of a pool of 10,000+ CTOs.
Stephen performed his graduate work in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where his Masters and PhD research focused on high-performance parallel processing. He also completed an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Yuliana Slashcheva

Prior to joining CTC Media, Yuliana was President of the Mikhailov & Partners group of companies. Before that, she was Chief Executive Officer of Mikhailov & Partners, one of Russia’s largest strategic communications agencies, having assumed this role in 1994.
From 2004 to 2005, Yuliana was a partner with the BBDO Group, where she was responsible for business development activities.
From 2001 to 2004 she was a Board member and Corporate Communications Director for the Russian investment company ESN Group, as well as the Vice Chairman of Kelenergo, a Russian energy company.
Yuliana was named one of the 20 most influential businesswomen in Russia by Kompania Magazine in 2013. In 2012, she ranked first in the PR agency manager category of Kariera Magazine’s list of “Top 100 communications specialists.” Yuliana also won the 7th Annual National Media Manager of Russia Award in 2007.
Yuliana received a degree in marketing from the Moscow University for the Humanities.

Aysel Trudel

Aizel Trudel (born Guseinova) is the representative of the “Christian Louboutin”, “Agent Provocateur”, “L’Agent by AP” and “Laduree” brands, founder of the AIZEL Moscow boutique, co-founder of the online store AIZEL.RU and trustee of Natalia Vodyanova's Naked Heart Foundation. Aizel was born in the family of a diplomat Aidyn Guseinov on March 7, 1977; in 2000 she graduated from the journalism faculty of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) specializing in public relations. Aizel is married to the architect Louis Trudel, the head of TTMG, an international design company. She is the mother of two children. Russian producer, director of projects in the field of performing arts, Founder and Head of the Saint-Petersburg International Ballet Festival Dance Open.
Ekaterina’s manager portfolio includes over 150 projects: cultural programmes for diplomatic missions, opera and ballet gala in Russia and abroad, holidays and memorial dates of Russia and St. Petersburg, 3D-mapping shows, open-air events, and theatre festivals.
Her signature project is the Dance Open Ballet Festival, founded in 2001. It is the largest ballet festival in Russia and it is one of the top 10 European art forums.
Since 2013 Ekaterina Galanova is the Director of open air Classics on Palace Square gala concert that features performances by the world opera soloists. In 2017 the project, which attracts up to 600,000 spectators received a bema! award for event marketing and integrated communications. It won the 1st place in the The Best Music Event nomination.
Since 2014 Ekaterina is working with innovative technologies: 3D-mapping performances on the facades of historic buildings as part of the St. Petersburg Festival of Lights attract from 600,000 up to one million viewers.

Leads business development and sales team for Facebook, Instagram and Messenger in Russia and Central and Eastern Europe. She joined Facebook Inc. in 2013 to build sales in Russia and CIS. Prior to that from 2010 she led digital transformation of CTC Media as Chief Digital Officer & Member of Management Board. Prior to CTC Media Anna-Maria served as CEO of Next Media Entertainment. Co-founder of Digital CEO Club, co-founder of charity initiative “You Can!” for underprivileged teenagers, participant of Young mediamanagers of Russia rating by PwC and Odgers & Berdston.
