Peace Rally
Convention and Exhibition Centre EXPOFORUM
The international project ‘Peace Rally’ which will be held this year under the mottos ‘Russia and Europe Together’ and ‘Russia and the Western Countries Travel Along One Peacemaking Road’ will be included in the programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Rally will be held for the second time in a row and will start from Monte Carlo on 16 May. The first stage is scheduled to finish by 23 May at the SPIEF venue and the participants themselves will take an active part in the Forum.

Such rare collectible antique cars as Buick 1947 Roadmaster, Morgan 1973, Aston Martin DB2, Morgan Threewheeler, MG Racing 1969, Rolls Royce Corniche, Citroen 1922 will participate in the Peace Rally.

The second stage of the rally starts from St. Petersburg on May 26. The ceremonial finish is scheduled for June 2 in Monaco, where the rally participants will meet Prince Albert II.

The number of participants will increase at this stage as Russian businessmen join the drivers in retro and sport cars.

ROSCONGRESS CUP. Gala basketball match ‘Forum Team – St. Petersburg Government Team’

One of the most exciting events of the SPIEF 2018 sports programme will be a basketball match for the Roscongress Foundation Cup between the Forum Team and the St. Petersburg Government Team, which is comprised of politicians, business leaders, and prominent athletes. Regardless of the outcome of the match, the participants are guaranteed to be in good spirits and make new business contacts.

Friendly match between the women’s national teams of Russia and France on sabre fencing
Russian Museum of Ethnography, 4/1, Inzhenernaya Ulitsa, St. Petersburg
The Marble Hall, the main exhibition hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, will host the event. Friendly match will be held in the form of a team tournament of nine bouts. Two-time Olympic gold medallist Yana Yegorian will captain the Russian team. Sofya Velikaya and Yuliya Gavrilova, 2016 Olympic team events champions, and the European Championship medallist Svetlana Sheveleva are also on the team roster. Manon Brunet, Charlotte Lembach and Cecilia Berder, 2017 World Fencing Championship medallists, as well as Sara Balzer will represent the national team of France. Pavel Kolobkov, Minister of Sport, will open the tournament. The Marble Hall, the central exhibition hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, will turn into the arena for the match between the world’s top sabre fencers. The day before, on 23 May, the leaders of the Russian national team will host a master-class for young fencers in St. Petersburg.

A return match between the female athletes of Russia and France will be held in Paris in November this year within the framework of International Fencing Federation Congress (FIE).
