Russia's first museum dedicated to the history of Russian theatre. The museum's collection includes 450,000 exhibits telling the story of drama, opera and ballet art during its existence in Russia. The museum is located in the former building of the Directorate of the Imperial Theatres, part of the architectural ensemble of Ostrovsky Square, designed by Karl Rossi in the 19th century.
