The Hermitage houses works of art from different eras and nations: the ancient Orient and Egypt, the Middle Ages in Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and Russia. There are halls devoted to Spain, France, England, Germany, Holland and many other countries. But one of the most important places is occupied by the halls dedicated to the art of Italy. The jewel and pride of the collection are works by the most famous masters of the Renaissance: Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Raphael, Michelangelo and others.
