Night Concert: Sunny Side Quartet

07 Jun , 23:30–01:00
Concert
Igor Butman's Jazz Club in St. Petersburg, 7, Naberezhnaya Kanala Griboedova

Sunny Side Quartet present a classic jazz organ line-up that was popular in the middle of the last century. The Hammond electric organ was patented on 24 April 1934 by former clockmaker Lawrence Hammond, and no one at the time could have imagined how influential the Hammond sound would become across all future musical styles and trends, including jazz, rock and pop music. After all, the sound of a Hammond organ is the sound of an era!

In the upcoming evening the musicians of Sunny Side Quartet will play the programme entitled "Dedication to the Greats!" Playlist will include compositions written by famous jazz musicians and composers of the great era, such as Jimmy Smith, Benny Golson, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, as well as interesting stories from the life of jazz musicians.

Admission is free
