Digital twins: innovative technologies in urbanism
One of the main trends in urban agglomeration management is the creation of ‘digital twins’, including decision support systems (DSS) based on artificial intelligence. There are only a few cities in the world that claim to have such technologies.
The creation of the ‘Digital Twin of the City’ using artificial intelligence is based on the collection, processing and analysis of spatial data. Technologies for data harmonisation and storage, tools for processing spatial and temporal data flows, DSS, etc. are already needed. Ensuring technological sovereignty in the sphere of urban development is possible only with the consolidation of best practices and promising technologies, including those using AI.
Key topics:
• International and Russian practice of digital twins of urbanized territories
• Technological solutions for providing digital twins of cities
• Prospects for the use of digital twins of cities in Russia
• What competences are required to develop and work with digital twins?
