Systemic development vectors: Effective industry operation via new approaches in the educational and academic environments. Discussion 360
The years 2022–2031 were proclaimed the decade of science and technology, with the main focus on bringing in young talent to R&D and engaging experts and engineers in addressing the key development objectives of the country and its people.
According to the Gaidar Institute, as of January 2024, more than 47% of industrial plants report skills shortages. The fast-changing reality and market rules drive changes in the educational and academic approaches, and large industrial enterprises scattered around the country must now adjust to such changes to address their shortage of qualified workforce.
How are industrial educational and training centers useful to the educational ecosystem? Where can value be added by such centers? Can industrial educational and training centers drive regional rollouts? How do we keep young people coming to universities and colleges interested in the field they want to major in? How can companies be sure that students will choose them after graduation? What instruments will prove effective?
How do companies identify the values in demand among young people and what tools can be used to communicate these values to the public? How do companies attract and retain engineering and R&D expertise when there are plenty of offers but pushing the pay level agenda directly is now hard, as already in December 2024, analysts of the Bank of Russia claimed that businesses had no resources left to continue the wage competition?
