Social media set new requirements for all types of communication, including scientific and popular science communication. In the era of short, essentially one-minute vertical videos (primarily stories), it is impossible to consider the format of 15- or 20-minute talks (such as the TED conference) as the main format for engaging in science and promoting scientific thinking. A new way to get the younger generation involved in science and to keep the middle-aged generation interested in it should be the shortest and most interactive format of scientific and popular science talks: 1 minute online and 5 minutes offline. The new online and offline INSIGHT conference is designed to teach scientists how to tell stories in a new format, to support and promote the figures of those scientists who are really strong in this format (bringing them closer to the status of bloggers), and in general to bring ultra-short scientific and popular science talks among social media trends. Some of the main advantages of the insight format will be the inherently native digital format of the presentations, the mandatory requirement of a visual metaphor within each presentation, and the mandatory reference at the end of each presentation to a more detailed and in-depth source of information.
