Tomorrow: Focus and Tools of Future Scientists
Our lives are changing rapidly: new technologies are penetrating all spheres of life, and this affects both individual nutritional and health needs, living conditions and quality of life, including nature and climate change, as well as national issues, such as sovereignty and security. In addition, the increase in the volume of information and the speed of technology generation leads to the emergence of fundamentally new ways of working in science and to the complexity of hardware and software tools for scientific research. This changing environment is launching a whole range of challenges and new development opportunities, and requires more detailed prioritization. What the future of science will look like given the unprecedented speed of life? What research areas will scientists prioritize? Who and how will define these areas? What will the new scientific infrastructure be like? Will the research laboratory of the future be a version of what we see today, or something fantastic by today’s standards? How does one prepare science for its future?
