Richard M. Daley served as Mayor of the City of Chicago from 1989–2011. He was the longest serving mayor in Chicago’s history and has earned an international reputation as a leading innovator in urban policy and local government. He helped enhance Chicago's quality of life, improve the public schools, strengthen the economy, reduce crime, improve transportation and make Chicago among the most environmentally friendly cities in the world. Daley helped transform Chicago into a 21st century economy by bringing new and growing businesses to the city. During his time in office, Chicago became a strong player in the global economy. Since retiring from his position as Mayor in May of 2011, Daley was named a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy Studies. Born in Chicago April 24, 1942, Daley is the eldest son of the late Mayor Richard J. Daley and his wife, Eleanor. A former state senator and county prosecutor, Daley was elected Mayor in 1989. He and his wife Maggie are the parents of three children, Nora Daley Conroy, Patrick Daley and Elizabeth Daley, and three grandchildren. A son Kevin died of spina bifida in 1981 at the age of three.

Sergei Sobyanin was born on the 21st of June 1958 in the village of Nyaksimvol in the Tumen region of Russia. In 1980 graduated from the Kostroma Institute of Technology. In 1989 received a degree from the All-Union Extramural Law Institute. Holds a phD in law. Began his working career in 1980 at the Chelyabinsk pipe-plant. In 1982 headed the organization department of a municipal committee of the Chelyabinsk division of the Soviet Union’s largest youth organization – the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. From 1984 to 1990 held executive positions in the Soviet political authorities of the Khanty-Mansyisk Autonomous Okrug. 1991 – Head of the Kogalym City Administration. 1993 – First deputy head of the Khanty-Mansyisk Autonomous Okrug Administration. 1994 – Chair of the Khanty-Mansyisk Autonomous Okrug Parliament. Member of the Federal Council of the Russian Parliament. Chair of the Committee for constitutional legislation and judicial matters. 2000 – First Deputy of the President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in the Ural Federal District. 2001-2005 – Governor of the Tumen Oblast. In November 2005 became head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. 2008 – Deputy Chairman of the Government – head of the Administration of the Government of the Russian Federation. In October 2010 the President of Russia proposed him for the position of the Mayor of Moscow and on the 21st of October 2010 he was approved by the Moscow City Parliament as the Mayor of Moscow for five years term. Married. Has two daughters.
