Tim Heritage, Bureau Chief, CIS, has worked for Reuters since joining as a trainee in 1985. Now on his third spell in Moscow after covering Gorbachev’s “perestroika” reforms in 1986-1987 and the Yeltsin period in 1994-1999, he covered the fall of communism in Eastern Europe, the collapse of Yugoslavia into civil war and the second Intifada in the Palestinian territories. After seeing the rise of Nicolas Sarkozy to the French presidency while in Paris, Tim spent three years as a news editor in London and then moved to Brussels to lead coverage of the euro crisis as European Affairs Editor before moving back to Moscow three years ago.

Born on the 1st of May 1959 in Ankara, Mr. Ateş graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Business Administration. He started his banking career in 1981 as Internal Auditor at İşbank, continued as system analyst at Interbank. Following various positions at different Interbank departments from 1985 to 1994 he worked as Branch Manager at Elmadağ, Şişli, Bakırköy, İzmir and Main Branches. He established Interbank’s cash management system and was promoted in 1993 to the function of Executive Vice President in charge of Central Operations, which was a first in Turkish Banking. Mr. Ateş worked as Executive Vice President for Financial Affairs and Operations at Bank Ekspres between December 1994 and June 1996. He led the bank’s restructuring project with Bank of America. He established the first 100% Turkish owned bank, Garanti Bank Moscow in Russia and worked as CEO for one year starting from June 1996. He continues his duties as President & CEO at DenizBank, where he started in June 1997 as the Founding President. During his management, he publicly listed DenizBank shares on October 2004 which were 5.5 times oversubscribed and of which 68% was sold to institutional clients abroad and his management also ran the process of selling 75% of DenizBank shares from Zorlu Holding to Dexia S.A with a historic high multiple of 4.7 times book value ($ 3.25 bln.) in Turkish Banking Sector in May 2006. Mr. Hakan Ateş was also Member of Management Board of Dexia from December 2010 to September 2012 also He chaired “Dexia Innovation Committee” on the Board level in the meantime. His management also ran the process of selling 99.85 % of DenizBank shares to Sberbank in September 2012. Mr. Ateş is also a Member of Board Of Trustees at University of Turkish Aeronautical Association and TED University, Board Member at Association of TED Ankara College Graduates and Metlife.

Joe was appointed Chairman of the Management Committee and Managing Partner for the CIS in January 2014. Joe has worked with EY for 25 years of which he has spent more than 13 years in Russia. He has worked in several different EY member firms where he served in various management and client service roles. During his career, Joe has been responsible for the technical consultation process, has been the Managing Partner of Assurance in two different emerging market countries and has led a risk management team. Joe’s experience is based on auditing of clients in the industrial, consumer and retail sectors in Australia, Indonesia and Russia. He also has capital markets experience, and has extensive experience in initiating and managing quality and risk management initiatives. From 2010 to 2013 Joe was responsible for internal risk management, technical policy development, capital markets, audit quality improvement and management of client-related issues associated with EY’s CIS assurance practice. Joe is a graduate of University of Ballarat, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (ICAA).

Andrey Guryev was appointed CEO by PhosAgro’s Board of Directors starting 1 August 2013. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as Deputy CEO of OJSC PhosAgro from April 2011. He was also Deputy CEO for Sales and Logistics of PhosAgro AG from October 2011 to June 2013. From June 2013 to August 2013 Mr. Guryev was the COO of PhosAgro AG. Mr. Guryev has worked at PhosAgro since 2004, holding various positions in the finance department and specialising in fertilizer exports. Mr Guryev graduated from The University of Greenwich in London with a BA in economics, and holds a Master’s degree from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation. He received a PhD in economics from the National Mineral Resources University (University of Mining).

Nikolai has led Nordgold’s management team since the company’s inception in 2007. Previously, he worked for the Russian steel company Severstal and was head of Severstal Resources’ gold division, which was subsequently spun off as Nordgold. Earlier, he covered the mining sector at New York and Moscow offices of McKinsey & Company. Nikolai holds a Master of Technical Sciences degree from St. Petersburg State Technical University (Russia, 1996), a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Texas (USA, 1999), and an MBA from Vanderbilt University (USA, 2001).

Mr. Shiv Khemka was educated at Eton College, received a B.A. from Brown University, an M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School and a Master’s in International Studies from The Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania. He was elected a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” (GLT) at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1997 and was invited to join the Forum’s “Foreign Business Leaders’ Council” for Russia. He is a member of the WEF’s Global Agenda Council for Education. As one of the founders and partners, Shiv also sits on the Coordination Board of the Moscow School of Management “SKOLKOVO”.
