While reducing human oversight for applications such as driverless cars or trading stocks may increase efficiency, some are warning of the dangers of artificial intelligence systems that are becoming so complex that we no longer fully understand how they make decisions. In particular, new developments in medical applications, service machines in households, or weaponized robotics have caused concern for many technology luminaries.
