Intellectual Eurasia: new consortia for the digital economy

24 May , 12:30–13:45
Session
Pavilion H, SPIEF Presentation Area supported by EY and FIAC

The EAEU has set itself the goal of developing new and existing economic sectors by using intellectual property as a key resource. Focusing on the development and use of ‘cross-cutting technologies’ that multiply the impact of investment in research and development, any support for creativity requires a common digital agenda.
One response to challenges posed by the transition of the economy to new development resources can be to consolidate the efforts of EAEU market participants, national and interstate development institutions, and business structures to create a fundamentally new digital infrastructure and tools for consumers and creators of intellectual property.
A single coordinating body has already been created, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Council for Digital Economy and Intellectual Property, which has proposed a number of steps for global digital transformation and making the EAEU more competitive through a strategic programme to develop the institution of intellectual property.
During the session, experts will also present plans to create consortia on cross-cutting technologies as part of the National Technology Initiative, as well as a new project of the Eurasian consortium Applied Science – a platform for establishing a network of public digital research institutes (DRnD Network), which will improve the effectiveness of communication between researchers and engineers, the organization and implementation of scientific and technological projects, the use of results, and the monetization of scientific potential.

Topics for discussion:
• The economy of Eurasia: where and how is growth possible?
• Shared room for manoeuvre – Eurasian intellectual initiative: seven steps for developing the intellectual potential of Eurasian countries in the interests of the digital economy
• Concentration of intellectual potential: network consortia of the National Technology Initiative
• Territories of communication and development of high-tech business
• Digital infrastructure: the Eurasian consortium Applied Science and the network of public digital research institutes (DRnD Network)
• Protecting rights in Eurasian markets = protecting investments
