Programme

Climate change is one of the most important global development issues. As it prepares to ratify the Paris Agreement, the Government of the Russian Federation has begun drafting a strategy for the development of a low-emission economy by 2050. The strategy will define the main trends and mechanisms for ensuring a new quality of economic growth in the long term, subject to the country’s nationally determined contribution to the global climate goal of limiting the growth of greenhouse gas emissions. How can the maximum climate neutrality of production be achieved without restraining growth in key industrial sectors? Can climate challenge become a driver of technological modernization in the energy sector and other sectors of the economy? How do these economic development trends compare to similar strategies being undertaken by developed countries?

In January 2014, Anatoliy Chubais was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO Managing Company LLC, which was set up within the scope of the OJSC RUSNANO Strategy up to 2020 envisaging division of management functions and possession of company assets. Since September 2008, Anatoly Chubais has headed state corporation Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies and, since it was transformed into an open joint-stock company in March 2011, had held the position of Chairman of the Executive Board of OAO RUSNANO.
From 1998 to 2008, Anatoly Chubais headed up RAO UES of Russia. From 1997 through 1998 he was First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation and from 1996 through 1997 Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office. From 1992 to 1996 he was Deputy Prime Minister and then First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for economics and financial policy. From 1995 to 1996, Anatoly Chubais was the Russian Federation manager in the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. 1991–1994 saw him as Chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for management of state property, when he authored and co-ordinated the Russian privatisation programme. Earlier, in 1990–1991, he was Vice-Chairman and then First Vice-Chairman of the Leningrad Soviet executive committee.

Simone Mori

Chairman of Elettricità Futura, the Italian Association of Electricity Companies
Simone Mori is Enel Group’s Head of Europe and Euro-Mediterranean Affairs and Head of Enel's European Union Affairs Department.
In May 2016 he was appointed Chairman of the Italian electric energy association Assoelettrica, and he promoted its merge with Assorinnovabili, the renewable energy Association, which led to the creation of Elettricità Futura in April 2017.
He previously served in several capacities within the Enel Group. He was Head of Regulatory Affairs, Environment and Innovation, with responsibility for regulatory issues in Italy and abroad, antitrust and environmental policies, in addition to being in charge of Carbon Strategy.
He has served on the board of companies belonging to the Enel Group both in Italy and overseas.
He is a member of the Technical Energy Group and the Technical Europe Group at Confindustria (the Italian business association) and a member of the General Assembly and the Executive Committee of OME (Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie).
Before being appointed Chairman of Assoelettrica, which is now known as Elettricità Futura, he was the organisation’s Deputy Chairman.
He has also served as Chairman of the Energy Association Assolombarda, Chairman of the Energy section of the Industrial Union of Rome and as a member of the Energy Commission of Confindustria.
He is a board member of Bruegel and a Senior Transatlantic Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
He also lectures in Economics and Management of Energy Sources at the La Sapienza and LUISS Guido Carli Universities in Rome.

Prior to this, Ms Spoljaric Egger had several assignments in the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Berne and New York. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Embassy of Switzerland in Cairo, Egypt, and was Desk Officer for the EBRD and Nuclear Safety in Central and Eastern Europe.
Ms Spoljaric Egger holds a Master's Degree in Philosophy, Economics and International Law from the University of Basel and the University of Geneva and has lectured in Global Governance at the University of Lucerne.
She is married and has two children.

Lars Peter Elam Hakansson

Peter, one of the founding partners of East Capital, is responsible for the group’s public equity investments. Peter has been awarded the Gold Star for best Fund Manager five times by Morningstar and Sweden’s largest financial daily Dagens Industri, as well as numerous Lipper awards for the performance of the funds that he manages together with his multi-cultural teams based in Hong Kong, Dubai, Moscow and Stockholm. Prior to founding East Capital, Peter held a series of senior positions at Enskilda Securities in London, Paris and Stockholm, where his last role was Head of Equities and Global Head of Research.
Peter holds an MSc in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics and has studied at l´EDHEC in Lille. He speaks Swedish, English and French
