THE B20 DEBATE: THE KEY BUSINESS PRIORITIES FOR THE GLOBAL AGENDA

Securing a strong recovery in the global economy, financial reform and stability, as well as promoting sustainable environmental policies are just a few of the issues that the G20 must wrestle with in St. Petersburg this September. What are the key priorities for the B20 advisory group for the G20 Summit? How can closer coordination between business leaders and the G20 lead to better global governance?


Key moments

There are some countries, OECD countries, in which the social contributions and the taxes eat up more than 50% of the take-home pay of the worker. We have to lower that why? Because we do not create the appetite for anybody to create new jobs.

Changing the governance in order to make it effective is one of the big efforts. And we need governance that is capable to play long-term strategies for growth and fast execution and lean and focused spending.

We want to encourage the shift towards consistency and simplicity (of taxation), but we also have to recognize that governments compete with each other by offering new tax incentives all the time to attract foreign direct investments.
