Investment and economic relations between Russia and Qatar continue to develop and concrete results have already been achieved. The Russia–Qatar Business Dialogue is a high-level discussion platform dedicated to the further development of investment opportunities between the nations. What challenges do both countries face in creating a favorable environment to bring business projects to fruition? What new horizons and opportunities are opening up for Russian–Qatari economic relations and what is their respective and joint potential role in the global economy?

Career
His Excellency Mr Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and financial sectors in Qatar. He became QNB Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2013 and held this position until 2018. Prior to this role, he was the Executive General Manger and Group Chief Business Officer of QNB.
HE Mr Al Kuwari is also Chairman of the Board of Directors for a number of organisations, including KATARA Hospitality, Qatar Stock Exchange, Qatar Development Bank and Masraf Al Rayan. He additionally is Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) and Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of QFCA.

Education
HE Mr Al Kuwari has a Master of Science in Management Information System from the Seattle Pacific University, and a Bachelor of Math and Computer Science from Eastern Washington University.
He also attended a number of executive programmes at Wharton School of Business, London Business School, Cambridge University and Duke University.

Andrey Kostin was born in Moscow in 1956. He educated Moscow State University in 1979 (major - teaching political economy), PhD in Economics.
He was at diplomatic service at the USSR Consulate General in Australia (1979-1982) and Embassy to the UK (1985-1990). In 1993 – 1995 he was Deputy Head of Foreign Investment Department of Imperial Bank. In 1995 he was elected First Deputy Chairman of National Reserve Bank. In 1996 he was appointed Chairman by presidential executive order of Vnesheconombank, in 1999 his term in office was extended for another three years. Since 2002 - President and Chairman of the Management Board, Member of the Supervisory Council of VTB Bank.
He has Order of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Seraphim, 2nd class, Orders For Merit to the Fatherland (2nd, 3rd and 4th classes), Order of Honour, Order of Merit (France), Presidential Letter of Appreciation and Presidential Certificate of Honour, Certificates of Appreciation from the Government of the Russian Federation, Presidential Certificate of Honour, Letter of Gratitude of the Russian Government, Russian Government Certificates of Honour.

Alexander Shokhin

Alexander N. Shokhin was born 25 December, 1951.
Graduated from the Moscow State University in 1974.
Doctor of Economics, Professor.
Twice, in 1991-1994 and in 1998, Mr. Shokhin held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
In 1991-1994 he also held positions of Minister of Labor, Minister of Economics, Chairman of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation and Development.
From 1994 to 2002 – Deputy of the State Duma, with the posts of First Vice Chairman of the State Duma, leader of the Duma party bloc 'Our Home is Russia', Head of the Duma Committee on Credit Institutions and Capital Markets.
Since 1995 - President of the National Research University – Higher School of Economics.
From 2002 to 2006 – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Group "Renaissance Capital".
From 2005 to 2009 – member of the RF Public Chamber.
Since 2005 – President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Mr. Shokhin is a member of several deliberative bodies under the Russian President and Government. He is also an independent director on the Boards of several companies, including ALROSA, Russian Railways, TMK and others.

Yury Denisov has been CEO of Moscow Exchange since May 2019. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial markets, including leadership positions at major Russian financial companies. Yury Denisov was a member of the Exchange’s Supervisory Board from 2008–2011 and again from 2013 till the present. Since 2008 he has been a member of the NCC Supervisory Board, which acts as central counterparty on all of the Exchange’s markets, and in 2010–2011 and since 2016 he has served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Since 2018 he has also served on the Board of the National Settlement Depository (NSD).
In 2002–2010, Yury Denisov was Senior Vice President and Head of the Treasury at VTB Bank, Deputy Head of the bank’s Asset and Liability Management Committee and Member of its Credit Committee.
In 1992–2002, he worked at Eurofinance Bank, where he was Vice President – Head of the Treasury and Member of the Asset and Liability Management and Credit Committees. He began his career at Vnesheconombank in 1987.
In 1993, Yury Denisov graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), specializing in international economic relations.
