The Onset of the Singularity: AI vs Humankind and the New Reality

15 Jun , 17:00–18:15
Building Technological Sovereignty
Congress Centre, zone B, 2nd floor, conference hall B4

Over the past year, noticeable changes have occurred on the market for artificial intelligence tools. AI has learned to communicate with people in a natural language, pass exams at leading universities, and create realistic images. These new tools are available to ordinary users. They are changing their lives and companies’ business models. Are these changes a signal that humanity has reached a technological singularity whereby AI is able to solve complex problems and create new technologies without people’s help? If not, how many years will it take to reach this singularity? How and when will the impact of AI on the labour market manifest itself? How will the introduction of new tools change the economy? Will they lead to the creation of industries or to the redistribution of profits to existing ones? What target model for the development of AI technologies would enable Russia to utilize its potential and provide leadership?
