The Russian equestrian industry responds intuitively to all global processes: the Russian horse breeding market for equestrian sports began to actively develop since the country has been prevented from participating in international equestrian events. The Russian equestrian business has enormous potential and opportunities to accelerate growth rates and bolster its role in the development of the economy of the country and regions, and also on the foreign market. There is a direct correlation between the sustainable development of horse breeding and equestrian sports in Russia and investors’ interest in the industry. Expanding the number of horse breeding and equestrian sports facilities in Russia could not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but also provide a foundation for the development of domestic tourism, support family and cultural values, create jobs and an educational environment for specialists in the field, and involve young people in new, interesting professions. What are the new opportunities for the development of horse breeding and equestrian sports in Russia in the current conditions? How can we maximize the industry’s economic and investment potential? What prospects exist for the medium and long-term development of equestrian sports and horse breeding?
