A session titled ‘Regional Economic Growth Led by BRICS Cooperation’ was held on 4 September 2017 in Xiamen, China as part of the BRICS Business Forum.
The event was organized by the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), and the Roscongress Foundation.
The session included speeches by Ulyanovsk Region Governor Sergey Morozov, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District Governor Natalia Komarova, Kaluga Region Deputy Governor Vladimir Popov, Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Bashkortostan Sergey Novikov, Agency for Strategic Initiatives Director General Svetlana Chupsheva, Vice-Governor of Fujian Province Zhang Ciying, and CCPIT Secretary General Yu Jianlong.
The participants discussed the investment appeal of Russian regions, joint projects between Russia and China as well as the development of contacts between representatives of the regions with the business community and investors from BRICS countries.
The Roscongress Foundation and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) signed a Memorandum on Cooperation on the sidelines of the Forum.
