11th Eurasian Economic Forum kicks off in Verona

The 11th Eurasian Economic Forum got under way at Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, Italy, on 25 October. The organizers of the annual business event are the Conoscere Eurasia Association, the Roscongress Foundation, and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The main theme of the Eurasian Economic Forum in 2018 is the development and strengthening of economic confidence and business diplomacy from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The Forum’s business programme includes discussions on some of the most important topics concerning the development of economic cooperation between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union, the impact of the current geopolitical situation on business freedom and growth in international trade relations, the ability to utilize modern financial instruments, and major breakthroughs in the energy industry, mining industry, and engineering. Technologies to improve logistics and infrastructure, interregional cooperation as well as information and digital technologies are also among the key issues to be discussed.

The Forum is being attended by government officials, public figures, CEOs of major companies and financial organizations, experts, diplomats, and journalists from Russia, Italy, and several other countries.

The Forum will continue to work on some of the important issues raised at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2018), in particular a discussion of initiatives to digitize economies and intensify integration processes between EEU member countries. “Global economic themes seamlessly flow from the business programme of one international forum to another, and this ensures the dynamic economic development of different countries and also strengthens the synergies of international cooperation in general. Our work with the Italian side has been a success, and I hope that the 11th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona will help businessmen and the heads of economic agencies from various countries to develop many areas of effective cooperation”, Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev said. “The Forum’s business programme seamlessly combines events involving the financial sector as well as global industries, and this creates significant prospects for the implementation of strategically important business projects for the international community”.

Antonio Fallico, President of Conoscere Eurasia Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Intesa said: “The Eurasian Economic Forum has become a strategic event for cooperation and dialogue between the main players of the Italian, European, Russian, and Eurasian economies. It is our hope that this Forum will transmit the consensus held by European companies, and convey the concepts of trust and development.
