Alexander Beglov approved the action plan to prepare St. Petersburg for SPIEF 2025
St. Petersburg is actively preparing for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which this year will be held from 18 to 21 June. An important milestone: Governor Alexander Beglov approved the Action Plan to prepare for SPIEF 2025.
“SPIEF is one of St. Petersburg’s signature events. According to the results of the Forum last year, we took the leading place in the country in terms of investment, having signed 69 agreements worth RUB 1,227 trillion. The city’s task as a host is to create all the conditions for SPIEF 2025 to surpass the outstanding results of last year, both in terms of the agreements signed and the positive emotions of guests and participants,” said Alexander Beglov.
The Governor reminded that in 2024 the Forum was attended by a record number of participants: 21,800 people from 139 countries and territories. At the same time, the exhibition and business zone, where the largest infrastructure projects of St. Petersburg were presented, was among the most popular stands at SPIEF.
Regional authorities, together with the relevant federal services, are preparing for the Forum in accordance with the Action Plan. It provides for addressing issues of transport and engineering infrastructure, ensuring security and accommodation for participants, and developing business, cultural and sports programmes.
The head of the city noted that the events of the St. Petersburg business programme will be traditionally focused on the strategic priorities of the city and country development as a whole. The exhibition and business zone of St. Petersburg, as in previous years, is 1,697 square metres. The city has already started to develop the concept of its content.
Traditionally, as part of the SPIEF cultural and sports programme, events for city residents will be held. The St. Petersburg Seasons culture festival organized jointly with the Administration of St. Petersburg and the Russian Ministry of Culture will take place. The Ladoga Gold international multi-day cycling race will also take place again.
