Turkey Delegation to Take Part in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
Alexander Stuglev, Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, and Tanju Bilgiç, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation, met in Moscow. The participants of the meeting continued discussing opportunities for expanding cooperation between Russia and Turkey, including on the forum track, which was launched at the international economic forum ‘Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum’, which was held in Kazan from 14 to 19 May.
The parties also discussed the preparation of the programme for the visit of Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, and other representatives of the Turkish delegation to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Thus, Alparslan Bayraktar confirmed his participation in the session ‘Technological Ecosystem of the Future: for the Benefit of People and Planet’. In addition, the delegation is scheduled to meet with Russian and foreign businesses at SPIEF, learn more about Russian regions, participate in thematic spaces, business and cultural programmes.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the presence of representatives of the Republic of Turkey in the major events of the Roscongress Foundation in 2024, among which are the following upcoming events: Let’s Travel! Tourism Forum (12–16 June, Moscow), Caucasus Investment Forum (15–17 July, Grozny) and Russian Energy Week (26–28 September, Moscow).
Alexander Stuglev, Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, noted the high interest in participation in congress and exhibition events in Russia on the part of Turkish partners. “Relations between Russia and Turkey are actively developing in a wide range of areas: in healthcare, science, engineering, and future technologies. Humanitarian ties are also expanding. There is an increase in mutual tourist interest between citizens of the countries. I am convinced that the multiformat cooperation between the countries will become a topic for productive dialogue not only at SPIEF, but also at other business events to be held in Russia this year,” emphasized Alexander Stuglev.
The Roscongress Foundation has established partnerships with several business organizations in Turkey. In 2022, on the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Russian-Turkish Trade House ROST. During SPIEF 2023, a partnership was established with Discover Events, a Turkish event organizing company, which also ensures the participation of Turkish companies in important exhibitions abroad. In addition, the Roscongress Foundation actively cooperates with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK).
“The Roscongress Foundation is a leading organization holding large-scale events in the Russian Federation. Turkey wishes to cooperate with the Foundation in the future,” said Tanju Bilgiç, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation. The parties agreed to continue dialogue on the congress and exhibition track of business events in Russia in 2024.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from 5 to 8 June 2024. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
