Drug Safety and Security Forum to take place on opening day of SPIEF 2021

The inaugural Drug Safety and Security Forum will be held on 2 June 2021, the opening day of SPIEF 2021. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity, and will take place with the support of the Subcommittee on the Circulation of Medicines and the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on Health Protection. The Forum’s motto is ‘Science and Technology for Health’.

“The pandemic has put serious pressure on the national system for provision of medicines, but this new threat has also spurred us on to respond quickly and find new solutions like never before. Business and government have operated as a single, streamlined machine, while the pharmaceutical industry was rapidly restructured in order to improve efficiency in these new conditions. The Drug Safety and Security Forum is in its first year, but I am confident that these meetings between experts on the sidelines of the Forum will become an integral part of SPIEF, and the Forum itself will emerge as a key industry event,” said Alexander Petrov, Chair of the Subcommittee on the Circulation of Medicines and the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on Health Protection.

The Forum’s business programme covers a wide range of issues concerning the provision of medicines, and the theme of the plenary session will be ‘Drug Safety at the Forefront of a Sustainable Healthcare System’.
