Expansion of Mutual Tourism Flows: Roscongress Foundation Holds Meeting with Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman's Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation, met with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman's Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow.
In his welcoming speech, Alexander Stuglev emphasized: “Establishing direct contact between Russian
and Omani companies is of great importance for strengthening mutual trust,
finding common ground and building strategic cooperation. As early as the end of April, under the umbrella of SPIEF, a delegation
from the Roscongress Foundation will visit Oman. I am confident that this
platform will bring together industries, enabling both countries' business
communities to reach a new level of agreement.”
During
the meeting, the parties discussed possible formats of cooperation. In particular,
they discussed the expansion of mutual tourism between Russia and Oman and the
signing of an agreement between the Roscongress Foundation and the Sultanate of
Oman’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry during SPIEF 2023.
Humanitarian cooperation was another topic of discussion. The
cultures of Russia and Oman are rich and unique, and everything should be done
to preserve them for future generations. “Cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries have been
developing well lately. I would like to point out that Hans-Joachim Frey, the
main founder of the Art Bridge Foundation and a partner of the Roscongress
Foundation, held the first Dresden Opera Ball in the United Arab Emirates in
Dubai last November. I suggest thinking about holding a similar event in Oman,”
said Alexander Stuglev.
"The
relationship between Russia and Oman is strategic. Trade between the countries
is growing, and we hope that forums will be great platforms to accelerate
growth," said Siham
Ahmed Yousuf Al Harthi, board member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, and chief executive officer and founder of Siham Development and
Investment.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place on
14–17 June. As is tradition, the opening day of SPIEF will host an SME Forum,
the Drug Security Forum, and events within the Arctic agenda.
