Roscongress and Invest India agree on cooperation

On June 1, 2017, as part of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Russian Federation, a memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum between the Roscongress Foundation and Invest India. The parties were represented by Roscongress CEO Alexander Stuglev and CEO of Invest India Deepak Bagla.

Recognizing the importance of expanding and strengthening business ties between the Russian Federation and the Republic of India, the parties agreed to develop bilateral cooperation in areas like trade, attracting investment and information and strategic support. The document envisages promotion of foreign direct investment opportunities and provision of assistance to prospective investors. The parties have acknowledged that both India and Russia are open for foreign investment, as reflected by their legislation and their record of international agreements.
