3rd Visiting Session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona Held in Yekaterinburg

The 3rd Visiting Session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona was held in Yekaterinburg. The topic of the session was ‘New trends in the global economy from the Atlantic to the Pacific: the Ural dimension’.

Two topics were brought up for discussion: ‘Metallurgical industry and mechanical engineering: opportunities for international cooperation and ways to restore economic growth’ and ‘Business on the path of environmental and digital transformation’.

The event attended by representatives of the business circles of the Urals and Italy was organized by Banca Intesa and the Government of Sverdlovsk Region in cooperation with the Conoscere Eurasia Association, the Roscongress Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the association of Italian entrepreneurs in Russia GIM-Unimpresa, the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, the Association of European Businesses and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

The list of speakers included Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Ambassador of Italy to the Russian Federation Pasquale Terracciano, CEO of the Association of European Businesses Tadzio Schilling, other high-ranking officials, top management of several major enterprises in the Urals and Italy, and business organizations from both countries.

Before the session, Andrey Kozitsin, CEO of UMMC, and Antonio Fallico, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Intesa, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations.

“In the current global context, the development of economic cooperation is one of the prerequisites for restoring growth. That is why we are here: cooperation between the Urals and Italy, especially industrial cooperation, is very exciting”, said Antonio Fallico, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Intesa and President of the Conoscere Eurasia Association, opening the session. He expressed confidence that the event would provide momentum for mutually beneficial cooperation between the Ural and Italian businesses. Mr. Fallico also urged the participants to go beyond the routine work, and to innovate by creating new synergies.

The 14th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona will take place on 28–29 October 2021. The Forum is organized by the Conoscere Eurasia Association (an Italian non-profit) and the Roscongress Foundation.
