Friends for Leadership at SPIEF 2023
Representatives of the international community of the next generation leaders and entrepreneurs Friends for Leadership took part in the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, held on June 14-17, 2023 in St. Petersburg.
Following the tradition that has developed since 2018, SPIEF 2023 invited more than 100 young leaders from 42 countries of the CIS, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe to the Forum with the assistance of the Roscongress Foundation, the Centrefor International Promotion Fund and the New Generation program implemented by Rossotrudnichestvo.
Over several days of the Forum, young leaders took part in several strategic sessions and expert discussions, as well as held a series of diplomatic events and meetings together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Presidential Platform "Russia - a Land of Opportunities", Russian regions, innovative technology companies and other partners from among global and Russian organizations.
The key topics were the issues of digital cooperation, strengthening the technological sovereignty of the countries of the world, increasing the importance of developing public diplomacy, determining the professional competencies of the future, implementing scientific and student exchanges, cultural and humanitarian initiatives and promoting the implementation of the sustainable development agenda.
“During the Forum, Friends for Leadershipreceived confirmation of the UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status represented by the Centre for International Promotion Fund, which, together with the Roscongress Foundation, has been doing this work for 5 years, and this has now been brought to the globallevel with the new opportunities for interaction with the UN in official status,” claimed Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
The work of young international SPIEF delegates continued efforts to promote multilateral economic and humanitarian projects. Many projects contribute to attracting new popular ideas and technologies to Russia and other countries. In addition, the participants discussed holding a series of further events with foreign partners at foreign venues using the resources and capabilities of the community, the RoscongressFoundation, and the Centre for International Promotion.
“Each SPIEF is special for us, representatives of Friends for Leadership. The number of productive contacts, agreements, new partnerships and discussions of already implemented projects cannot be imagined on any other international platform. In the new status, having received such a responsible credit of trust from the UN, we are ready to offer formats for the participation of our community representatives in a number of UN projects and programs around the world and will actively participate in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, but more importantly, in formulating those new guidelines that should become the new agenda after 2030,” said Roman Chukov, founding member of Friends for Leadership.
