Ministry of Transport announces competition for young talent

The Ministry of Transport has announced a competition for young talent in the ‘Transport Routes of My Country’ category. The ministry invites people to take part in the fifteenth ‘My Country – My Russia’ all-Russian competition of original youth projects and educational projects with a focus on the socioeconomic development of the Russian regions.

The results of the milestone competition will be announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in May 2018 with the support of the Roscongress Foundation in St. Petersburg. Applications are accepted until 20 March 2018.

The Ministry of Transport has supported the competition, which has been held since 2003 to get young people involved in the development of Russian regions, cities, and villages, for several years. In 2017, 41 projects were submitted for the ‘Transport Routes of My Country’ category with experts selecting 21 of them during the live part of the competition from 14 Russian regions. In 2017, the winners of the specialized category were awarded by Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov. The terms for participation in the competition, requirements for projects, evaluation criteria, and other useful information is available in the Regulation on the Competition, which can be found at the link: http://www.moyastrana.ru/upload/iblock/5a8/5a8665fce3daa0847d3953c52521c851.pdf.

Administrative Department Director Konstantin Pashkov is the coordinator of the ‘Transport Routes of My Country’ category. A series of educational lectures and seminars for young people and their mentors is planned as part of the competition. They will have the opportunity to acquire skills from implementing socioeconomic projects. Regional organizational committees are to be established in the regions of the Russian Federation.
