Development of Russian Non-Resource Exports to Be Discussed at SPIEF
A series of business events focusing on the development of Russian non-resource exports will take place on 6–8 June as part of the SPIEF 2019 business programme. The Russian Export Center will organize the events and also present manufacturers of high-tech export products.
The experience of developing regional export projects will be discussed at the Governors’ Club, which has already become a staple of the event. Representatives of the regional authorities, leading state development institutions, and business will get together to discuss how to effectively modernize the support system for exporters that are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including individual entrepreneurs, which will increase their share in the overall volume of non-resource exports to at least 10% by 2024.
The Russian Export Center will also organize a panel session titled ‘Promotion Strategies for High-Tech Exports’. Today, the products made by creative industries are among the most promising areas of export development. Russian companies are already highly competitive in IT, cinema, animation, engineering, design, and VR. The next step is to establish ‘creative hubs’ and a ‘Virtual Special Economic Zone’ in Russia. Experts will talk about how to effectively combine corporate promotion strategies and government support measures, create an environment for the successful development of and exports by creative industries, and make Russia an attractive destination for manufacturing companies.
“We view the SPIEF as an effective platform for dialogue with business and to establish new partner contacts. The President has set ambitious goals for us of increasing Russian exports of non-resource and non-energy goods and services to USD 250 billion and USD 100 billion by 2024, respectively. The theme of non-resource exports traditionally generates great interest at the Forum among the Russian and international business community, which helps to find new ways to promote Russian products to foreign markets”, Russian Export Center General Director Andrey Slepnev said.
In addition, REC experts will hold a session titled ‘Export Acceleration. Steps towards Exports’. The export accelerator is an integral system of educational, financial, and non-financial measures that aim to support and accelerate the development of companies’ export activities, including those that have not previously exported products.
New opportunities for promoting domestic exports will be reinforced by the signing of agreements with Russian and international organizations in the private and public sector.
A ceremony will be held on the sidelines of the SPIEF to present awards to the winners of the district stage of the national ‘Exporter of the Year’ Prize in the North-West Federal District. The prize will be awarded to organizations and individual entrepreneurs who have achieved the greatest success in exporting non-resource and non-energy goods, works, services, and intellectual property.
