The next session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to be held in Tula

On May 26, 2016, Tula will host the fifth field session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum ‘Russia’s Regions: New Areas of Growth’, organized by the Roscongress Foundation in conjunction with the Russian Export Centre and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The session will be supported by the Foreign Investment Advisory Council and the Ernst & Young audit and consulting firm (EY).

The main topic of the discussion will be the search for and development of new investment and export projects in the Russian Federation. Deputy Russian Presidential Envoy to the Central Federal District Olga Atyukova, Acting Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin, General Director of the Russian Export Centre Petr Fradkov, Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Andrey Nikitin, Director of the Industry Development Fund Alexey Komissarov, Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev, EY Partner Valentina Fedoseeva and head of the Cargill representative office in Russia Yelena Zosimova have all been invited to take part in the event.

The participants in the session will also be able to familiarize themselves with the new business contact formats that will be used extensively at the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is to be held at ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centreon June, 16–18 under the theme ‘Capitalizing on the New Global Economic Reality’. During the Forum, it is planned for the first time to hold the exhibitions SPIEF Investment Projects and SPIEF Business Expo, this creating the most convenient conditions for establishing contacts and developing cooperation with potential investors and companies.

“The ‘Russia’s Regions: New Areas of Growth’ cycle of sessions is targeted primarily on identifying projects with considerable investment appeal and export potential. We expect their implementation to facilitate modernization of the economies of Russian regions. This is an urgent task today,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Within the scope of the event, it is also planned to hold a briefing by the Russian Export Centre about financial and non-financial one-stop-shop support measures provided by the Centre to exporters, as well as a briefing session ‘Marketing a Region’.

The previous field session of SPIEF were held in Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and Moscow.
