Main Discussion Themes of the First Connecting Eurasia Dialogue – from the Atlantic to the Pacific Announced

The First Connecting Eurasia Dialogue – from the Atlantic to the Pacific, which will be held in Brussels on 15 March will have the following key discussion themes: ‘Many strategies, one goal’, ‘Sustainable connectivity and dialogue on standards’, ‘Connecting Eurasia in Practice’.

The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Italian Conoscere Eurasia Association in co-operation with the Association of European Businesses and the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. High-ranking officials from the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as representatives from a number of countries and organizations and top managers of Europe’s and Asia’s leading companies are expected to participate.

Emphasizing the importance of holding the event in Brussels, Alexander Stuglev, Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation, noted, “Greater Eurasia is a geopolitical space. Its territory includes 45 percent of the world’s nations where two thirds of the global population live. Co-operation of those nations comprise all spheres of market relations. Nation leaders, governmental officials, representatives of associations and expert communities are facing a challenging task: facilitating development of economy of trust and diplomacy of business from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. With this aim we are launching a platform for discussion and finding solutions to key issues of co-operation in Eurasia.”

“Relevant issues of co-operation among Greater Eurasia’s countries from the Atlantic to the Pacific will be discussed in Brussels. When forming the business agenda, we set ourselves a task to create conditions for a dialogue between key players in this area – mainly the EU and the EAEU. Brussels as the heart of Europe is a perfect place for active discussions of this matter. I am sure that events like this will become a good tradition,” underlined Antonio Fallico, President of the Conoscere Eurasia Association.

The meeting in Brussels will make a contribution to solving specific issues – including technical and regulatory ones – of co-operation in the Eurasian space between the European Union and EAEU. Co-operation of Greater-Eurasian countries will also be the main subject of the annual – this year the 12th – Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona. It is also organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Conoscere Eurasia Association. This year, the Forum will be held on 24–25 October.

The events under the common theme ‘From Lisbon to Vladivostok’ traditionally take place during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on 6–8 June this year.
