SPIEF 2024: Boosting Russian-Algerian Cooperation
A visiting session of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held in Algeria. The main theme of the event is «SPIEF 2024: boosting Russian-Algerian cooperation».
«SPIEF is not only a huge event, but also a development tool that allows participants to find and develop new contacts and new projects. We see the interest shown by the Algerian side during our visit. Of course, this is a consequence of the participation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the plenary session of the SPIEF 2023, this year the country's business delegation became one of the most numerous in the more than quarter-century history of the SPIEF. I am convinced that the direct flight service between St. Petersburg and Algiers, which was launched in the summer of 2023, will be another incentive for expanding cooperation projects through personal contacts and meetings», – noted Alexey Valkov, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Among the participants of the event: Valerian Shuvaev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Algeria, Ivan Nalitch, Trade Representative of Russia in the Algerian People's Democratic Republic, Alexey Valkov, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the SPIEF, Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal (CREA).
«Russia and Algeria have long-term friendly relations, certified at the highest level. In addition, our countries support each other's decisions on the development of sovereignty in all areas of the state's life. Today we are determined not only to strengthen trade relations, but also to look for new mutually beneficial cooperative solutions and develop logistics routes», – said Ivan Nalitch Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Algeria.
Experts presented the SPIEF platform as a communication platform for the development and deepening of strategic cooperation in 16 areas, which are fixed in the Declaration on In-depth Strategic Partnership: politics, trade and economy, customs, finance and banking, energy, subsoil use, military-technical cooperation (MTC), the fight against terrorism and crime.
