Vladimir Putin names Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan as strategic allies

Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan are Russia’s strategic partners, and cooperation is furthering economic and industrial growth there, said President Putin.

“Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan are our strategic partners and allies. In all these countries, Russia ranks first in terms of bilateral trade and, despite current economic headwinds, Russia has retained this position,” said Putin in talks with the President of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the best evidence of the effectiveness of Russia’s work within the EAEU was the economic growth and increase in industrial output in those countries.

Putin also said that collaboration was ongoing on all areas, and that providing security and fighting crime and terrorism were especially important. The three countries, he said, were members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a platform that Russia and they would use to further coordinate their actions, an issue covered during his visit.
