Qatar Airways Gives SPIEF 2019 Pavilion to Life Line Foundation
The ceremony transferring the pavilion took place today, on 7 June, the second day of the Forum. CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker, Life Line Charitable Foundation President Faina Zakharova, and Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of Social Programmes Elena Marinina all took part.
According to Life Line Charitable Foundation President Faina Zakharova, the pavilion will be located in the St. Petersburg Yacht Club on Petrovskaya Kosa, and the first events will be held in late June. “Every year we conduct dozens of events with volunteers, guests, and wards of the Foundation, and it is so comforting that we will have our own place in St. Petersburg, a place to come together that will warm our guests with the hospitality of Qatar”, Zakharova said. “This is the first time the Foundation has received a gift of this kind, but we are sure that, together with Qatar Airways and the Roscongress Foundation, we are beginning a good tradition”.
“Qatar Airways takes an active part in various social projects, and we are pleased that after SPIEF 2019 our stand will get a second life and be filled with new energy. We are pleased to participate in SPIEF 2019 and to be in St. Petersburg”, CEO of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker said.
In her welcoming speech Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of Social Programmes Elena Marinina emphasized that “In 2020, Qatar will not just be participating in the Economic Forum but will serve as guest country, and the development of joint social programmes is an important part of future cooperation.”
The Qatar Airways Pavilion is made of natural materials and is a real oasis. Light colours, palm trees, the aroma of Arabian coffee with cardamom, and dates and oriental sweets all plunge you into the atmosphere of Qatar. The impression of having visited the warm and hospitable country was rounded out by good weather.
