Development of the domestic consumption market in the SPIEF 2025 agenda

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) will be held from 18 to 21 June 2025

In the context of global changes, special attention will be paid to the formation of a supply-side economy, which in turn will satisfy the large domestic demand for domestic products, give a new impetus to the development of production and increase the competitiveness of Russian enterprises. The Forum will continue to discuss key economic measures aimed at supporting the domestic market and creating favourable conditions for business and investment.

“Three years of work under the toughest sanctions in the world history clearly demonstrate to the world how high the potential of our economy is. Its growth in 2023 has not only put Western forecasters to shame, but also raised a question within the country. How can we organize our economic structure and our fiscal policy in the right way, so that the success of 2023 and 2024 is not an accident, but a system? The growth of the military-industrial complex, the construction industry and the main types of economic activity confirms the high potential of the domestic marketThe development of the supply economy, and thus of the domestic demand economy, is what we have to rely on in the coming years. This is our secure future and a key task,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

SPIEF has already addressed the topics of transition to a multipolar model of the world economy, new strategic guidelines for the Russian economy, advanced technologies to ensure the country’s competitiveness, as well as public health and social development issues.

Important agreements aimed at developing the domestic market were signed during the Forum. For example, Gazprombank and Rusal agreed to provide financing of up to RUB 40 billion to introduce advanced technologies at the Krasnoyarsk and Bratsk aluminium smelters.

Special attention at SPIEF is traditionally paid to innovations in healthcare, the development of medical science and the prospects of the domestic pharmaceutical industry. These issues are discussed within the framework of the Healthy Life Area and the ‘Ensuring Drug Security’ Forum.

SPIEF 2025 will be an important platform for developing strategies aimed at technological sovereignty, developing export-oriented industries and modernizing infrastructure. The Forum will bring together representatives of the government, business and expert community, ensuring a productive dialogue to find solutions to strengthen the country’s economic stability.
