Roscongress Foundation Presents Its New Sports Projects at SPIEF

The Roscongress Foundation presented its new sports projects Roscongress Sport Club and Sochi Challenge Forum as part of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018.

The Sochi Challenge Forum will be held from 28 to 30 September 2018, coinciding with the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix and combining business events in a casual format and the sporting programme. The chosen venue is the Main Media Centre and other facilities built for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi.

The Roscongress Sport Club is a year-round club bringing together successful people keen on sports. The club members get a special Roscongress Sport Club card granting them access to the Foundation’s sporting events, as well as new services and networking opportunities. The first cards were issued for SPIEF 2018. The Club’s first event, a sports tournament, was held at the Nevsky Sports Club on 25 May. The partner of this tournament was the Kalashnikov Group. The Club programme continued on 26 May at the Derby horse club as part of the hurdle racing tournament, which is included in the SPIEF programme for the first time.

“The sporting programme was integrated into the Foundation’s business events three years ago and, since then, it has become an essential element. Indeed, sport helps build an atmosphere of trust, providing opportunities for informal networking and new contacts. The appearance of such projects as the Roscongress Sport Club and Sochi Challenge Forum means a new level in the development of the Roscongress Foundation’s congress and sports formats”, stressed Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO Georgy Bryusov.

“Together with our colleagues from the Roscongress Foundation, we are working on the sports programmes involving the Olympic heritage – facilities built on the Imereti Lowland for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. We are prepared to develop further the existing infrastructure in the interests of our common project to promote an active lifestyle”, said Elena Shmeleva, Head of the Talent and Success Foundation and Member of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.

During the presentation, the Roscongress Foundation and the Kalashnikov Group signed a cooperation agreement on joint implementation of sporting programmes at economic forums and other projects. The document was signed by Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev and Pavel Kalashnikov, Member of the Board of the Kalashnikov Group. The event was also attended by Natalia Vinokurova, Financial Director of the Roscongress Foundation,  Irina Zhiltsova, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Founder of the J.U.M.P. horse riding team, Vladimir Starovoitenko, Head of the Roscongress Sport Club project, Viktoria Lopyreva, Ambassador of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, Nikolay Isakov, Deputy General Director of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, Head of the Russian Hippodromes company; Petr Makarenko, Founder and Owner of the TeleSport marketing agency, Andrey Gavrilenko, President of the Ladoga Trophy Raid Foundation, and Alexey Kalachev, CEO of the Russian Convention Bureau Association.
