Roscongress presents Russia’s major business forums of 2017 to a French audience

A conference organized by Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism with the participation of the Association Dialogue Franco-Russe has taken place in Paris on the creation and development of historical and cultural tourist routes. Representatives of the business community, members of the public, and the media participated in the conference. The main objectives of the event were to develop cooperation between France and Russia, and to help realize Russia’s potential as a destination for holidays and educational trips.

During the conference, the Roscongress Foundation presented a number of international business events scheduled to take place in Russia in the coming year, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2017), the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2017), the Sochi 2017 Russian Investment Forum, and the International Arctic Forum.

Participants in the presentation learned about the prospects for development and possibilities for communication offered by these different platforms, the outcomes of the forums in previous years (including the range of participants, and the number of agreements signed), and also about the Roscongress Foundation’s activities and the locations of its projects, from Montevideo to Vladivostok. It was noted that, since its foundation ten years ago, the organization has held more than 420 events, attended by participants from more than 130 countries.

In the words of Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev: “In the context of a rapidly changing economic and political environment, open and honest dialogue between governments and business communities throughout the world takes on particular importance. The Roscongress Foundation therefore sets out to organize professional, high-quality events that offer a platform for this kind of dialogue.”

A cooperation agreement was signed by the Roscongress Foundation and Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism on September 1, 2016 at the Eastern Economic Forum. The signatories agreed to collaborate on organizing business events dedicated to developing tourism, to supporting enterprise, and to furthering cooperation between the tourism industry and state bodies, and also to work together to promote new ideas on strengthening Russia’s tourism image and developing her tourism economy, including by facilitating the creation of a favourable investment climate for attracting investment in the tourism industry.
