Russia–Mexico Business Forum to be held in Mexico City for the first time
The first Russia–Mexico Business Forum is set to be held in Mexico’s capital, Mexico City, on 3 April 2025. The Forum will be a key milestone in strengthening commercial ties between the business communities of Russia and Mexico and will bring together over 150 representatives of medium-sized and large businesses, business associations and government agencies. The organizer of the Russia–Mexico Business Forum will be the Roscongress Foundation, under the Roscongress International brand. The event will be supported by the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the United Mexican States and the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (CANACINTRA), an agreement with which was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2024.
“Mexico is one of Russia’s key Latin American partners in both regional and international affairs. On 11 December of this year, Russia and Mexico will mark the 135th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. We are seeing high levels of interest in cooperation with Russia from the Mexican business community and in turn, Russian companies are showing interest in cooperating in the fields of medicine, mineral resource extraction, renewable energy sources, tourism and other areas. The cooperation of individual Mexican states with Russia’s regions is also worthy of attention. All this points to the timely nature of this business forum and means that we can bank on it being a success and playing a role in the continued development of Russian-Mexican relations,” emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
The Business Forum programme will cover the main areas of cooperation between Russia and Mexico. Participants will discuss prospects for collaboration between Russia and Mexico in the fields of trade and investment cooperation, the tech industry (energy, digitalization, ICT, pharmaceuticals), science and culture. The Mexican audience will also have the chance to learn about the Roscongress Foundation’s ecosystem, including its key forums and discussion platforms: the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF, 18–21 June), the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF, 19–21 May), Russian Energy Week (REW, 15–17 October), the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF, 3–6 September), the Let’s Travel! International Tourism Forum (10–15 June).
To discuss the practical aspects of Russian-Mexican business cooperation, a webinar will be held on 19 February 2025, organized by the Roscongress Foundation jointly with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) and the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the United Mexican States. The webinar will highlight details of the upcoming Business Forum and will include a speech by Alexander Abramov, Russia’s Trade Representative in Mexico, on specific features of doing business in Mexico.
The Russia–Mexico Business Forum will help promote Russia’s business and investment potential in Mexico, and the Russian-Mexican business dialogue will continue as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, to be held on 18–21 June.
Additional information on the Russia–Mexico Business Forum will be available on the Roscongress Foundation website.
