Sadhguru Took Part in Golf Tournament at SPIEF 2018

Indian yogi and mystic Sadhguru participated in the Roscongress Cup international golf tournament, held under auspices of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. As part of the tournament, Sadhguru played in a friendly match with Russia's best golfer, Maria Verchenova. They played the entire 18-hole round at the Peterhof golf club.

A total of about 100 SPIEF participants and guests from 9 countries took part in the tournament. In addition, about 70 people attended two master classes by Maria Verchenova.

The tournament was opened by Viktor Khristenko, the president of the Golf Association of Russia. “It is very important for us that the golf tournament has become one of the sports traditions of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Golf is not only a wonderful sport, but also a special environment, a special atmosphere that favors any kind of contact: personal, business, sporting, cultural. Cooperation with the Roscognress Foundation is an important step for developing golf in Russia. In addition to the tournaments, itis an opportunity to present investment projects related to golf and promote golf clubs. Now this option is being considered in Vladivostok, where the course is being built, and where the Eastern Economic Forum is held,” said Viktor Khristenko.

We should note that the tournament was attended by the State Duma deputy, Olympic champion in speed skating Svetlana Zhurova, President of United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexei Rakhmanov, Ilim Group Board of Directors member Boris Zingarevich and other politicians and business leaders.

Also, as part of the SPIEF 2018, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between the Roscongress Foundation, Golf Association of Russia and Golf Estate Asset Management Company. The main subject of the Agreement was cooperation in the sports programmes of economic forums, including golf tournaments under the auspices of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum at Peterhof club, presentations of new golf clubs, and other projects aimed at developing corporate and mass sports.
