The Second Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum will take place on 6–7 June during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

The Forum aims to deepen the dialogue between Russia and China in the energy sector, improve the efficiency and enhance the portfolio of joint projects as well as attract investments.

Its business programme includes panel discussions on key issues concerning Russian-Chinese energy cooperation in the oil and gas industry, nuclear energy, electric power industry, and banking sector.

The Forum is organized alternately by the Rosneft Oil Company and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). This year the Forum is being organized by the Rosneft Oil Company with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

The first Forum was held in Beijing, capital of the PRC, in November 2018 and was attended by representatives of roughly 90 companies from the energy, financial, and IT sectors, political and public figures as well as diplomats and experts from Russia and China. Over 50 bilateral meetings were held and approximately 20 agreements were signed by energy companies from both countries.

The Russian Presidential Commission for the Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security together with the National Energy Commission of China act as the coordinators of the Forum.
