Special SPIEF session on ‘New approaches in the Russian economy: localization and innovations’ to be held at Boao Forum for Asia

On March 23, 2016 a regional session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on ‘New approaches in the Russian economy: localization and innovations’, organized by the Roscongress Foundation, will take place at the Boao Forum for Asia in China.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) session on ‘New approaches in the Russian economy: localization and innovations’ will aim to support international dialogue on bilateral partnership between Russia and China across various sectors. Participants will discuss the development of domestic production, doing business during a digital revolution, new approaches to opportunities for joint projects, and the potential for collaboration between Russia and China on innovation and entrepreneurship.

“China and Russia are strategic partners. Our countries are making strong progress in improving trade relations and conducting joint projects in energy production and infrastructure. I am certain that the session held by the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Boao and the participation of our Chinese colleagues in the Forum in St. Petersburg, which will take place from June 16 to 18 this year, will spur the development of a multifaceted bilateral partnership, bringing it to a qualitatively new level”, said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

In March 2015, the SPIEF Foundation (now the Roscongress Foundation) and the Boao Forum for Asia, a non-governmental, non-profit international organization, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Boao, aimed at supporting and developing the business dialogue between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation
Wang Liangyou, Deputy General Manager, China Southern Power Grid
