SPIEF 2023 Completes Offsite Session: cooperation for Economic Growth and People’s Well-being
The third
offsite session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023 (SPIEF
2023) took place on the sidelines of the major investment forum AIM Congress
2023 in Abu Dhabi.
The offsite
session was held under the theme ‘Russia and the Middle East: Cooperation for
Economic Growth and People’s Well-being’ and featured discussions about tourist
flows between Russia and the Middle East, which has long been supplemented by
financial flows, business missions, scientific and educational exchanges, and cross-cultural
projects.
“Russia
has been and remains a reliable partner of the UAE and an open economy. The
transformation of international cooperation is one of the top priorities amidst
sanctions. Developing multifaceted mutually beneficial cooperation with the
countries of the Middle East and North Africa is one of the priorities of our
country’s foreign economic policy,” Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim
Reshetnikov said.
The
opportunities offered by the SPIEF platform will not only help to fully unleash
the potential of the UAE as an important strategic hub, but will also provide an
additional impetus to the development of bilateral relations between the
countries. During his speech, Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and
CEO Alexander Stuglev said: “This year, the Emirates will serve as a
guest country at the SPIEF: this status of participation not only entails an
extensive business programme, but a full-scale presentation of the country at
the largest international platform – its culture, traditions, and investment
potential. Over the course of several days, the Emirates will enrich the
business and cultural life of St. Petersburg.”
The
Roscongress Foundation was not just limited to organizing the session in its
visit to the UAE, but also coordinated a full-fledged business mission together
with Synergy University.

our expertise and experience with Russian entrepreneurs. We work simultaneously
with businesses in several areas, providing comprehensive support on all issues
that may arise in the process of entering the market of the United Arab
Emirates. This includes the educational programme Open Dubai, which more than
500 people visited during the year, many of whom have already begun to discover
a new market, and thematic conferences on topics that are important to and in
demand among business. The last and equally important focus of our work is the
organization of business missions for entrepreneurs who are ready to enter a
new market. During such events, we introduce participants to the UAE business
world and help them meet with investment funds, local companies, and real
estate and cryptocurrency players,” Synergy Corporation President Vadim Lobov
said.
The St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum will take place on 14–17 June 2023 at
the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg.
