Staying International: Roscongress Shares Results and Plans

The congress and exhibition events in 2022 confirmed the willingness of friendly states to cooperate with Russia. In the past year, events organized by the Roscongress Foundation were attended by more than 30,000 participants from more than 140 countries and territories, and over 80 official delegations took part in the business programme of the events that offered over 600 sessions.

Egypt became the guest country of the 25th SPIEF. The Eastern Economic Forum was attended by the Prime Ministers of Myanmar, Armenia, and Mongolia, as well as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People's Republic of China. Business dialogues between Russia and India, China, Vietnam, Egypt, ASEAN, Africa, and other countries, as well as regional associations successfully took place during SPIEF and EEF.

Cultural contacts have been expanded, both during the main events and new international ones abroad. In November, for example, the international conference called ‘Values and Opportunities in a Multipolar World’ was held in the UAE on the occasion of the Dresden Opera Ball.

“A rich business agenda is planned for 2023. The guest country of SPIEF will be the UAE. A new format for interaction between Russian and foreign businesses will be implemented within the Foundation’s key projects (SPIEF, EEF, and REW) – SME International Cooperation Day, in which representatives of small and medium-sized businesses are expected to take an active part. The 2nd Russia–Africa Summit and Economic Forum will take place from 26–29 July. In the autumn of 2023, the Verona Eurasian Economic Forum will take place, organized jointly with the Conoscere Eurasia Association. In November 2023, the UAE will host an international business forum. We are also considering a number of other events in Africa and the Middle East. I invite everyone to cooperate – both on the sidelines of the Foundation’s events and as part of other events,” said Alexander Stuglev, CEO and Chairman of the Roscongress Foundation.

In the coming year, the Roscongress Foundation plans to enter foreign markets and open a network of project offices in friendly countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America under the Roscongress International brand. The task of the project offices will be both to provide information and analytical support to Russian partners and investment projects in the region, and to organize business events, business missions and thematic exhibitions. The Roscongress Foundation has agreed to jointly support the Made in Russia brand with the Russian Export Center. These activities will be aimed at promoting Russian goods on the international market. An initiative for voluntary ‘Made in Russia’ certification for domestic manufacturers has already been implemented.

The dates of the largest convention and exhibition events have been confirmed: St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (11–13 May), St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (14–17 June), Eastern Economic Forum (5–6 September), and Russian Energy Week (11–13 October).
