Innovation Space Opens Digital Future at SPIEF 2023

Innovation Space, the flagship project of the Roscongress Foundation in high-tech, science and venture investments, will open at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 14–17 June 2023. Lively discussions on the most important topics of technological development await guests.

Businesspeople and public officials, visionaries and scientists will discuss opportunities for achieving technological sovereignty and ensuring digital security, as well as prospects for Russian software. A separate discussion will address scientific and industrial agglomerations – industrial parks, SEZs, innovative research and technological centres and other formats that bring together innovative business, industry and academia. Klim Shipenko, director of the Challenge – the first film shot in space, will take part in the session on the use of domestic software in the film industry.

One of the most talked about events is the discussion with the provocative title ‘WTF – what the future! What will the digital future look like in 10 years?’ The top five experts in the energy, manufacturing, finance and IT will be looking for answers to this question.

Traditionally young teams will have the opportunity to present their projects at a special pitch session. An important criterion for evaluating start-ups will be their export potential, i.e. scalability in the global market. Among the members of the expert jury will be investors from the UAE, the guest country of SPIEF 2023.

The Start-up Alley by the Skolkovo Foundation will open in the Innovation Space. The Russian Foundation for Information Technology Development (RFRIT) will demonstrate engineering software by ASCON, software products for building design by Renga Software, and other projects. In addition, visitors to the Innovation Space will be able to learn more about the educational VR platform for security specialists by ForceTech.

Another new feature of this year’s Innovation Space is the presentation of a unique information and trading service for banks, brokers and management companies by Moscow Exchange. In addition, the MOEX Treasury terminal, which offers Russian companies the opportunity to manage their own liquidity directly on exchange markets, will be available for testing.

The audience will certainly be interested in the products by Aquarius, one of Russia’s largest developers, manufacturer and supplier of computer hardware and IT solutions with over 34 years of experience. The company’s production complex, represented by two plants in Shuya and Tver, provides a full cycle of high-tech equipment manufacturing, including PCB printing, component surface mounting and assembly of tablets, laptops, all-in-one PCs, servers, and data storage systems. At the last year’s SPIEF, Aquarius signed three major agreements, which enabled it to provide its customers with unique services.

The main interactive feature of the Innovation Space will be its interior that will be created during the Forum. A large-size 3D printer F2 Gigantry (printing area 3.5 x 1.8 x 1.5 m), developed by F2 Innovations together with Bauman Moscow State Technical University, will print unique chairs for speakers and participants of the Forum with polymer granules. You will be able to see the whole printing process with your own eyes.

Another product of Bauman Moscow State Technical University – the SLP-250 industrial complex for selective laser melting – will make mugs with aviation aluminium featuring the SPIEF 2023 logo. They will become a great Forum souvenir. The unique geometry of the mugs will be achieved by additive technologies. Traditional methods – casting, stamping and rolling – cannot be used for these purposes.

The Innovation Space will be open in pavilion G of the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre throughout all days of SPIEF. Its programme is available on the Forum website.
